Mint has been used for centuries as a medicinal ingredient and has a wide range of uses from freshening up your breath to cooling down sore and tired muscles.
Peppermint is one of our FAVORITE essential oils, and these are our top 4 ways we use it:
1. Clears congestion - Add a drop or two to your humidifier or add a drop to a tablespoon of lotion and rub on your chest.
2. Alleviates the pain of headaches - Add a drop or two of peppermint to 3 tablespoons of a carrier oil of your choice like olive, fractionated coconut, or sweet almond, and roll on your wrists and temple.
3. Eases muscle pain - Add a drop or two to a tablespoon of lotion and rub into any area that is stiff or sore.
4. Steam or bath - Add a drop or two to the bottom of the shower of the bathwater to help with all of the above.
Just a note, peppermint is very potent and concentrated and needs to be diluted with a carrier oil before it can be used topically (concentration needs to be less than 2%).
