Tamanu oil might possibly be my favourite ingredient of all time. This is because it is a powerful skin regenerator and can help with virtually any skin irritation or condition. Tamanu oil is obtained from the nuts of the Ati trees, which are native to Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands. The oil has been used as a cure all for centuries and possesses great antioxidant, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. It’s used widely for anti-aging and treatment of acne, eczema, psoriasis, fungus, stretch marks, age spots, skin rashes, scars, dermatitis, burns/blisters, body odour and insect bites.

I discovered tamanu a few years back and was amazed at what it did for my dry and sensitive skin. Applying the oil immediately brightens up the skin and leaves it soft and hydrated for hours. I also use it on my psoriasis and find it really helps with diminishing the redness and reducing the itching.

My love for this oil was the inspiration behind two of my favourite products. The Tamanu + Rosehip facial soap and The Elixir facial serum are made for dry, sensitive, and aging skin, but can be used by just about everyone. These two are part of my daily routine so be sure to check them out!
